Our speaker this week is Julia Rayberg, CEO, Director Julia is a Co-founder of Worthy Village.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in December 2015 with a BS in Business Marketing. While traveling to Guatemala in 2013 with a professor, Julia was exposed to extreme poverty, and claims that it changed her life forever.
Today, Julia works full-time building Worthy Village, managing, and overseeing programs, as well as organizational development. She works part-time as a non-profit consultant and travels back and forth often, spending about 9 months of the year in Guatemala. Her hopes are that one day she can be “a small part of making a big difference in Guatemala.”
During her speech, Julia will talk briefly about the journey to open Worthy Village, the work we have done over the last eight years, and the ways in which WV keeps their work sustainable and grassroots. She will express the importance of working in a particular manner with indigenous populations to ensure sustainability and success of programs.
